New Year, New You?

Hello Friends,
I am excited to share this New Year with you. I hope this New Year brings new adventures, new goals, and success. One of my goals this year is to take an active role in Mental Health Awareness. There is a stigma in dealing with Mental Health, and I want to provide a voice of advocacy. I have started to lunch Head to Heart Check-Ins, a weekly 😊 blog post to get my thoughts, ideas, and mental health tips out there and for us to discuss and learn from each other.

I am excited to start writing more this New Year. I’m getting outside my comfort zone and walking into something I have put off doing for years. Along with two other fabulous women, I published my first book in 2021, Shiloh: The Peace of Fathers. It was an experience, and writing a book has been on my Vision Board for years. I know many people have started their vision board this year, and I don’t know about you, but my vision board ends up in the back of my closet or the trash. I have even changed the date on one of my vision boards because it has the same goals each year. “New Year, New Me” healthy lifestyle changes, buying a home, saving money, and going on trips were some of the many things on my board. These goals are great and doable, but I wanted something different this year. I want to have specific goals. To focus more on my Mind, Body, and Spirit. I hope that by sharing this Blog, I hold myself accountable and create a space to grow my spirituality, to walk in my authentic self, and enjoy the richness that life has to offer.

My 1st and foremost goal for this year is self-compassion. Being kind to myself allows the space to make mistakes. To not always be right and to let go of living my life through the veil of perfectionism. By allowing myself the space and time to be me and find out who I am in this chapter of my life—all that to say, Happy New Year’s all. We are in week 2 of the New Year, so if your goals have fallen to the wayside, you’re going strong. Always remember to be kind to yourself though that you are loved, you are valued, and you are needed. Take care, and I’ll talk with you soon.
